AS Roma have made Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku their number one priority in the summer transfer window, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi plan to add another quality attacker to their ranks and they have so far been linked with Juan Manuel Iturbe and Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Nevertheless, Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Roma officials have turned their attention to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian does not appear to be in the first team plans of boss Jose Mourinho and while the Blues are unlikely to sell him to one of their Premier League rivals, a move to Stadio Olimpico could benefit all the parties concerned.
Lukaku, 21, is likely to be tempted by the prospect of Champions League football, but it remains to be seen if the two sides can reach an agreement on the transfer fee.
The highly rated forward will spearhead Belgium attack at the 2014 World Cup, with the Red Devils 4/11 to win their opening fixture against Algeria.
