Roma chasing Vermaelen

Roma are reportedly interested in signing Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen from Premier League side Arsenal.

Sportal.it claims Roma director Daniele Prade was in London and watched Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Porto and was impressed with the Belgian.

Vermaelen has been a hit for the Gunners this season and it is believed manager Arsene Wenger will be desperate to keep him at the club.

Reports say French defender Philippe Mexes will leave Roma at the end of the season and Roma could bring in Vermaelen as a replacement.
