AS Roma are wrapping up a deal to sign English defender Ashley Cole from Chelsea, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have already signed Seydou Keita on a free transfer from Valencia, while Urby Emanuelson is expected to follow as his contract with AC Milan has expired.
And Roma now look set to sign their third free agent of the summer as Ashley Cole has reportedly agreed to join their ranks.
The 33-year-old was not offered a contract extension at Stamford Bridge and he has accepted the Giallorossi’s offer of a two-year deal with an option for another season.
Roma already have Federico Balzaretti and Dodo at their disposal, but club officials believe the former England international will prove a great signing for the club.
Ashley Cole spent eight years at Stamford Bridge having joined from arch rivals Arsenal, making 229 Premier League appearances and scoring 7 goals in the process.
