AS Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign Colombian forward Luis Muriel from Udinese, Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested.
With Adem Ljajic widely expected to leave, the Giallorossi are looking for attacking reinforcements and they seem to be closing in on the Zebrette starlet.
It is believed Udinese are open to selling their prized asset to Stadio Olimpico, while Roma will allow Nico Lopez to remain at Friuli in return.
Luis Muriel has been showing a great deal of promise since moving to Italian Serie A from Deportivo Cali, having initially impressed during a loan spell with Lecce.
He has since established a very good attacking partnership with Udinese icon Antonio Di Natale, scoring a total of 15 goals in 46 league outings for the Zebrette.
After making just two appearances for Colombia during the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, the 23-year-old was cut from Jose Pekerman’s squad for the tournament finals.
