AS Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko from Manchester City, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The Giallorossi have made the experienced forward their number one target and they have all but agreed personal terms with the player.
Dzeko appears eager to get reunited with international teammate Miralem Pjanic at Stadio Olimpico and finally secure regular playing time.
Reports from England suggest that Manchester City value their star player at €20 million, although Roma will obviously attempt to lower the asking price.
Sporting director Walter Sabatini hopes to wrap up the transfer before the team fly to Australia, where they will take part at the International Champions Cup.
Edin Dzeko, 29, largely struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at Manchester City in spite of some impressive performances, and he scored no fewer than 50 goals in 74 Premier League starts for the club.
