Italian giants AS Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah from Chelsea, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have expressed a desire to sign the 22-year-old on loan until the end of the season, and they are currently in talks with the Blues officials.
Roma representatives are determined to wrap up the deal quickly and they want to hear a definite response from Chelsea in a day or two at the latest.
With Salah clearly not in the first team plans of coach Jose Mourinho, chances are he will be allowed to spend the remainder of the season in Italian Serie A.
Roma coach Rudi Garcia wants the Egyptian to improve the club’s attacking options while star player Gervinho is away on international duty.
Despite being largely disappointing since joining Chelsea from Basel, Roma officials clearly believe that Salah has enough quality to play at the highest level.
