Roma are on the verge of agreeing to sign Corinthians defender Dodo, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have been following Jose Rodolfo Pires Ribeiro for a while now and they have recently made their interest concrete.
As the Italian newspaper reveals, the 20-year-old defender has agreed to sign a five-year deal with the Serie A giants.
Dodo will join Roma when his contract with Corinthians expires on 31st July, with the transfer set to be officially announced in the coming weeks.
The left-back, who is seen as a natural successor to Roberto Carlos, was previously linked with a move to Manchester United and even spent two weeks on trial at Old Trafford.
The promising defender made his debut for Corinthians in 2009, but has since amassed just 8 league appearances for the Brazilian giants.
Dodo spent last season on loan at Bahia, where he managed to score one goal in 14 league games.
