Italian giants AS Roma have announced that they have completed the purchase of Boca Juniors midfielder Leandro Paredes.
The Argentine footballer joined the Giallorossi on a season-long loan with an option to buy last summer, but he only made a total of 12 competitive appearances this term.
Nevertheless, Roma exercised the option to make his transfer permanent for a fee of €4.5 million.
The financial statements released by the Serie A club yesterday evening revealed that the Giallorossi had triggered the buy-out clause back in March.
Leandro Paredes arrived at Stadio Olimpico as one of South America’s hottest prospects, having shown a great deal of potential after coming through the youth ranks at Boca Juniors.
The 20-year-old midfielder has yet to prove his worth in Italy’s top flight, but Roma officials clearly believe the youngster has what it takes to develop into a quality player for the club in years to come.
