A.S. Roma manager Rudi Garcia has confirmed the club’s interest in Adrien Rabiot, but has denied an already with Paris Saint-Germain is already in place.
According to reports in Italy, Roma have a deal in place to sign the France Under-21 international in the January transfer window.
Rabiot, whose current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, has also been attracting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea after refusing to sign a new deal with PSG.
“I don’t have any secret agreement with Paris for Rabiot,” Garcia said.
“That’s all a load of rubbish. The transfer market closed on Sept. 1 and we’ve signed plenty of players. Rabiot is a PSG player and I don’t want to say anything more on this subject.”
Rabiot scored three goals in 34 competitive appearances–including 17 starts–for PSG last term, but has yet to make a first-team appearance in 2014/15.
Remy delighted with Chelsea move
France international striker Loic Remy simply could not refuse the opportunity to join Chelsea after a move to Liverpool collapsed following a failed medical earlier in the summer.
Remy’s ‘other’ option was to stay at Queens Park Rangers, and start alongside former Burnley talisman Charlie Austin.
It is safe to say Remy made the right decision, and he knows it.
“Being at Chelsea is the perfect response to my critics,” Remy said. “Many thought I’d fall into obscurity by joining QPR, but look at me now.
“I always try to make the best decisions for my career. I’ve come a long way from all my problems and that is not down to luck but hard work.
“My strength is that I know where I want to go and make the effort to get there.
“When the chance comes up to join a club like Chelsea you can’t say no. The deal was done late in the evening. I was prepared to stay at QPR but I didn’t hesitate for a second when Chelsea came along.
“I know I won’t start out as first-choice striker at Chelsea, but nothing is set in stone. I have my aims.
“I didn’t sign for them in order to sit on the bench. I will try to improve as much as I can alongside their great players, and the rest will happen naturally.”
Remy, who scored the match-deciding goal in France’s 1-0 win over Spain during the international break, has been signed as a replacement for Milan-bound Fernando Torres, who joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal this summer.
