Roma have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Lille’s Salomon Kalou, according to the Daily Star.
Manger Rudi Garcia is keen to strengthen his squad when the transfer window reopens, as he looks to build on the Rome side’s strong start to the season.
They are unbeaten in their twelve Serie A games this season, though they have drawn their last two games after a record ten-game winning run.
Kalou, who has appeared in all thirteen of Lille’s Ligue 1 games this season, has a £3m release clause in his contract which also alerted West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United, both of whom he rejected moves to in the summer.
The 28 year old former Chelsea man scored his twenty-third international goal in the Ivory Coast’s 1-1 draw in Senegal on Saturday evening – a result which secured The Elephants place at next summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
