Il Corriere dello Sport understands that AS Roma bosses are determined to ensure star players Miralem Pjanic and Kostas Manolas remain at the club beyond the current campaign.
The Bosnian playmaker has long ago become a key member of the side, but he has seen his name linked with moves to Real Madrid and PSG of late.
And taking also into account his €45 million release clause, the Giallorossi rightly fear for his long-term future at Stadio Olimpico.
They are, nonetheless, prepared to go the extra mile to persuade Pjanic to stay, and the recent impressive run in the domestic championship is definitely a step in the right direction.
At the same time, coach Luciano Spalletti and club officials believe Kostas Manolas has become an indispensable member of the squad, and are ready to offer him a new and improved deal.
With the Greek centre-back currently earning mere €1.5 million per campaign, he is set for a substantial pay rise.
