Roma duo believes in title

(GSM) – Roma defenders John-Arne Riise and Juan are confident their side can catch Internazionale and win the Scudetto this season.

The Giallorossi currently lie third in Serie A, just four points behind Inter ahead of Saturday’s head-to-head clash with the league leaders at the Olimpico.

Roma visit Bologna on Wednesday but the media are already labelling Saturday’s match as a title decider.

“The comeback is possible. Inter are the favourites, but we believe,” said Riise. “It will be fundamental to win in Bologna to give us every chance in the head-to-head on Saturday.

“There are nine games left until the end of the season. For us, they will all be finals. I don’t believe that Inter will be tired after their efforts in the Champions League. They have a sufficiently large squad to fight on all fronts. But we have to believe in ourselves.”

Juan agreed and said that his faith lies in the fact Roma have another card up their sleeves.

“For us, it will be an advantage to get our captain back. We hope that he can get back to his best,” the Brazilian explained.

“Inter will be tired. They are playing a lot and are still active on all fronts.

“As for Milan instead, they will miss Pato and Nesta. Those are absences that make themselves felt.

“Montali is right, we have to look forward, not back,” he concluded.
