Talksport understands that Roma have ended their interest in Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez.
The East Midlands club gave the Serie A side a deadline for them to meet their valuation of the Algeria international – thought to be around £40m, but they have decided against making a bid.
Mahrez has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium all summer with Arsenal also monitoring the situation though their interest has waned in recent weeks.
The twenty-six year old signed for Leicester half way through the 2013/14 campaign and has since racked up one hundred and thirty-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring thirty-five goals.
He was instrumental as the Foxes secured a shock Premier League title win in 2016, scoring eighteen goals on route to being named PFA Player of the Year.
Despite the speculation surrounding his future, he played as Craig Shakespeare’s side were beaten 4-3 at Arsenal on Friday evening.
