Serie A giants AS Roma are thought to be preparing for a January bid for Chelsea outcast Cesk Fabregas.
The Italian news outlet Il Tempo reports that Giallorossi are willing to offer an escape route to the Spanish international, whose future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.
The experienced midfielder has struggled to fight for his place in the team under new manager Antonio Conte and has started only two Premier League matches this season at the expense of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic who appear to be the preferred choices for the Italian manager.
Fabregas even played a game with the Chelsea U23 side and is believed to be keeping his options open for a possible move away from Stamford Bridge.
Roma are extremely keen on the player and are reportedly mooting a six-month loan offer with an option to make it a permanent deal at the end of the 2016-17 season.
The Spaniard has two more years in his contract with the Blues and could be persuaded to leave in order to get his career back on track.
Former Arsenal and Barcelona man was a mainstay for Chelsea over the last two seasons in the Premier League, having notched 34 and 37 league appearances respectively.
