Roma eyeing Ben Yedder

Italian giants AS Roma are hot on the trail of Toulouse forward Wissam Ben Yedder, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.

Considering that club icon Francesco Totti is nearing the end of his playing days, the Giallorossi are on the lookout for a new striker who would rival Mattia Destro for a starting berth.

And Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Toulouse’s Wissam Ben Yedder is one of the first names on the club’s hit list.

Coach Rudi Garcia is well aware of the player’s qualities and he has instructed sporting director Walter Sabatini to try and lure him to Stadio Olimpico at the earliest opportunity.

Ben Yedder, 23, has been in scintillating form this season, having managed 12 goals and 5 assists in 31 Ligue 1 appearances for le Tefece.

He is widely tipped to earn his first France cap in the near future and could even have a chance of making les Bleus World Cup squad.
