Giallorossi are set to lose Mohamed Salah in January as the Egyptian is due to join his country for a spell at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the Italian giants are already eyeing a potential replacement.
In the meantime, French media outlet Le 10 Sport is spreading a word on rumours that link Genoa forward Lucas Ocampos with a January switch to Rome.
The 22-year-old Argentina international arrived to Italy on a season-long deal from Olympique de Marseille, but Roma are reportedly keen to cut his loan short and take him on their books once the January transfer window reopens with the turn of the year.
Roma would reportedly use Manuel Iturbe as a counteroffer for their Serie A rivals.
Ocampos impressed for Genoa this term despite his early struggles towards getting accustomed to the Italian football.
The Argentina international striker has so far made seven Serie A appearances, adding two goals during that time for Genoa.
