AS Roma are interested in signing Julian Weigl from Borussia Dortmund and Sekou Sanogo from Young Boys, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Weigl, Dortmund’s 23-year-old defensive midfielder, started out at 1860 Munich, and after two years there he moved to the Signal Iduna Park in 2015. Since then he has made 132 appearances and found the opposition net three times for the current Bundesliga leaders. He has also been linked with a move to AC Milan.
Sanogo, 29, spent two seasons with Africa Sports in Ivory Coast before joining Thun in Switzerland in 2011. He was their player for three years, but he spent most of that time on loan at Lausanne-Sport. In 2014 he joined Young Boys and has played 96 times for them, scoring 11 goals.
As claimed by the Italian outlet, Roma’s sporting director Monchi has made these two players the club’s primary transfer targets as they set out to boost the middle section of their squad to help them weather the upcoming challenges.
