AS Roma are lining up a bid for Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have been pretty active in the January window, signing Radja Nainngolan and Michel Bastos, and they aim to conduct another piece of business before the end of the month.
Considering that back-up stopper Nicolas Burdisso is set to complete a loan move to Genoa, Roma plan to add another centre-back to the squad.
And Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that the Stadio Olimpico outfit are set to make a move on Toby Alderweireld.
Roma attempted to sign the Belgium international last summer, but he eventually opted to join Atletico Madrid.
However, with Alderweireld making just four league appearances for los Colchoneros this season, the Giallorossi are hoping he would be interested in January exit.
Roma are not giving up on the Serie A title despite trailing leaders Juventus by eight points, and they are no less than 9/1 to lift the league trophy.
