Roma eyeing Yohan Cabaye; Portuguese starlet undergoes Valencia medical

hot-transfer-newsRoma eyeing Yohan Cabaye

Italian daily newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport understands that AS Roma are lining up a January bid for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The Giallorossi are determined to build on the impressive start to the season and they are likely to make a couple of high-profile signings in the winter transfer window.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Newcastle playmaker Yohan Cabaye is one of the first names on their hit-list.

Rudi Garcia knows the player well having coached him at Lille and he is determined to lure him to Stadio Olimpico.

Newcastle value the player at €15 million, which is well within Roma’s price range. The Giallorossi are also looking at Tottenham duo Lewis Holtby and Sandro.

Roma’s winning streak finally came to an end yesterday evening as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Torino, with Rudia Garcia’s side now 2/1 to win their first league title since 2001.

Portuguese starlet undergoes Valencia medical

Valencia are on the verge of completing the signing of Portuguese defender Ruben Vezo from Vitoria Setubal, according to Record.

The 19-year-old is currently undergoing a medical at Mestalla, which is enough to suggest the two clubs have already reached an agreement over the transfer fee.

Valencia have been forced to focus their attention on young and talented players with the club in serious financial trouble and they have singled out Vezo as the player who could make an impact in Spanish La Liga.

The youngster has come through the youth ranks at Vitoria Setubal, but he was only handed his senior debut this season.

However, Vezo has quickly managed to nail down a regular starting berth, making eight Primeira Liga appearances and only missing one game through suspension.

Jeanvier on Hamburg radar

Bundesliga side Hamburg are among clubs showing interest in Lille full-back Julian Jeanvier, reports L’Equipe.

The 21-year-old only joined les Dogues from Nancy this summer, but he has failed to prove his worth to new boss Rene Girard.

While making four appearances for the reserve side, the defender wasn’t even considered for any of the match squads in Ligue 1 so far.

As a result, Lille are prepared to offload the youngster in January, with Hamburg and Sochaux reportedly leading the chase.

The Bundesliga side want Jeanvier to provide competition for Dennis Diekmeier on the right flank and are expected to make their interest concrete in the coming weeks.

Prior to joining Lille, Jeanvier had made six league appearances for Nancy, while mostly featuring for club’s reserve side.
