Around 500 angry AS Roma fans staged a demonstration outside the club’s training ground on Saturday, throwing smoke bombs and bangers.
Roma lost their opening two games of the season following last season’s disappointing sixth place finish and coach Luciano Spalletti quit earlier in the week to be replaced by Claudio Ranieri.
However, fans have been making their feelings clear, showing their support for Spalletti and dissatisfaction with president Rosella Sensi.
Protesters held up banners with statements such as: “Enough is enough,” and “Go away Rosella”.
Fans are upset with the club’s failure to sign any big name players during the off season and with the sale of Italy international Alberto Aquilani to Liverpool for 20 million euros.
