According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Italian side Roma are in ongoing talks with Liverpool over the possibility of signing Dejan Lovren. The often controversial defender is no longer considered to be a first choice centre back at Anfield, with a series of better defenders moving ahead of him. Despite the fact that Lovren himself probably believes he’s more than good enough to lock down a place in the starting XI, his future could now lie away from the Reds.
Personal terms are not set to be an issue with Roma being in negotiations over an official fee, as the 30 year old edges closer and closer towards his departure.
Roma have been eager to sign a defender before the new season begins over in Serie A, but up to this point, they haven’t quite been able to get a deal over the finish line.
The hope is that Lovren, above all others, will be their knight in shining armour.
