Italian giants AS Roma are hot on the trail of Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi chairman James Pallotta confirmed on Tuesday that the club would reinforce the back line in the summer, although much will depend on whether Roma can secure Champions League qualification.
But, provided they are allocated significant transfer budget, the Giallorossi will make a move on long-term target Vincent Kompany.
The injury-prone Belgian is not exactly regarded as an indispensable member of the squad by new coach Pep Guardiola and he may be allowed to leave in the event of a good offer.
In case the Giallorossi fail to lure the Belgium star to Stadio Olimpico, they will turn their attention to Lorenzo Tonelli and Federico Acerbi.
Following the impressive five-match winning streak, AS Roma sit two points behind Champions League positions and they are 5/4 to achieve a top 3 finish.
