AS Roma are weighing up summer move on Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Giallorossi had previously shown interest in the Argentina star and they have now rekindled their interest.
With the 31-year-old valued at €15 million, Roma could find an agreement with Barcelona, while offering the player a long-term deal worth €3.5 million per season.
However, the Catalans’ transfer ban could prove to be the problem as coach Luis Enrique does not appear ready to let any of his important players leave this summer.
Despite being mostly used in the heart of defence, Mascherano has always performed admirably for Barcelona, while becoming a true leader in the Argentina national team.
But, with Roma boss Rudi Garcia prepared to play the experienced footballer in his preferred midfield position and at the same time make him one of the most important players in the squad, the Argentine could be tempted by the prospect of moving to Stadio Olimpico.
