Roma in fresh assault on Konoplyanka

Italian giants AS Roma are readying a new assault on Dnipro star Yevhen Konoplyanka, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi have so far been linked with moves for free agents Rio Mavuba, Andre Ayew and Glen Johnson, but it is the Ukrainian footballer that is the centre of their attention at the moment.

Roma were unable to lure Konoplyanka to Stadio Olimpico in January, but they hope to make things right at the end of the season.

Seeing that his contract at Dnipro is due to expire in the summer, the Ukraine star has decided to leave his current employers for greener pastures.

And while he prefers a switch to English Premier League, it is believed Konoplyanka would consider joining Roma.

Dnipro will be heavily relying on the 25-year-old when they take on Napoli in the second leg of the Europa League semi-finals, with the Ukrainian side priced at 3/2 to qualify for the final.
