Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that AS Roma are readying January bid for Guangzhou striker Alberto Gilardino.
The Giallorossi coach Rudi Garcia currently has Francesco Totti and Mattia Destro at his disposal, but he hopes to add an out-and-out striker in the upcoming transfer window as well.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Frenchman has set his sights on Alberto Gilardino, one of Serie A’s top goalscorers among active players.
The 32-year-old has failed to adapt to life in China and he is desperate to return to Italy in the January window.
And while Torino and Atalanta are also keen, the opportunity to fight for the Serie A title would probably make him choose Roma.
The best thing here is that Gilardino will probably be available on a free transfer given that Guangzhou are desperate to offload one of their highest-paid footballers.
The veteran striker moved to China last summer and has since scored 5 goals in 14 league outings.
