AS Roma are the latest club to have joined the race for Wolfsburg star Ricardo Rodriguez, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi look set to offload Ashley Cole in January and are in the market for a new left-sided defender.
And while long-term target Eder Balanta is also capable of operating on the left hand side, Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez is seen as a natural replacement for the English defender.
Roma officials aim to take advantage of the fact that the Switzerland international has been unable to agree new deal with the Bundesliga side, although it is believed the 22-year-old would cost in excess of €10 million.
Rodriguez, who is also followed by Juventus and Real Madrid, is widely regarded as one of Europe’s best left-backs and has so far scored 8 goals in 83 Bundesliga outings.
The talented defender has already bagged 4 goals in all competitions this season to prove he can contribute a great deal in the attacking phase.
