German newspaper Kicker reports that AS Roma are showing interest in Twente defender Douglas.
The 24-year-old was widely tipped to leave the Tukkers this summer, but he was only interested in a late move given that he needed to remain in Netherlands until August in order to get Dutch passport.
The clubs interested in the highly rated defender were put off by the complications, as a result of which the Brazilian remained at the club.
German daily Kicker, however, claims that Roma are pondering a January bid for the player, with Newcastle and Schalke also looking to enter the race.
Twente have no option but to cash in on Douglas in January considering that he has entered the final year of his deal at De Grolsch Veste.
The Tukkers value the player at €8 million, but everything suggests he can be acquired for much less in the next transfer window.
