AS Roma have joined the chase to sign Schalke centre-back Thilo Kehrer, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.
While the Miners are adamant that the youngster has another year left on his contract at Veltins Arena, the 18-year-old believes he is a free agent and has already agreed a deal with Inter Milan.
However, the Nerazzurri have yet to register the contract as they don’t want to have a problem with Schalke seeing as the two clubs are in talks over Xherdan Shaqiri.
And it appears that AS Roma are ready to take advantage of the situation by swooping in for the talented footballer.
The Giallorossi will probably see Alessio Romagnoli join AC Milan in a big money deal and they want Kehrer to replace him at Stadio Olimpico.
Kehrer has so far made 51 league appearances for Schalke’s Under 19 side, while featuring in 14 UEFA Youth League fixtures.
