La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that AS Roma are weighing up bid for Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino.
Having sold Pablo Daniel Osvaldo to Southampton, the Giallorossi are hoping to sign an experienced striker who would help youngster Mattia Destro flourish at Stadio Olimpico.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma officials are looking to recruit Alberto Gilardino from Genoa, and are prepared to offer Marco Borriello in exchange for the Italy international.
However, with their Serie A rivals unlikely to agree to such a proposal, the Giallorossi will have to splash the cash if they want to add Gilardino to their ranks.
The 31-year-old has managed to kick-start his career while on loan at Bologna, scoring 13 goals in 36 Serie A matches, while also returning into international fold.
Should they fail in their pursuit of Gilardino, Roma could turn their attention to Juventus striker Alessandro Matri, who is heavily linked with a summer exit.
