AS Roma are in pole position to sign Valencia defender Adil Rami, according to Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Frenchman has been suspended by the club following public outburst against coach Miroslav Djukic, and it appears los Che are prepared to cash in on the player in the January transfer window.
Valencia value Rami between €8m and €12m, and there should be quite a few clubs ready to meet their asking price.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims that AS Roma are leading the race at the moment, with boss Rudi Garcia hoping to get reunited with the player he coached at Lille.
The Giallorossi have signed Mehdi Benatia from Udinese this summer, but they are eager to further reinforce their back line.
Adil Rami has spent last two years at Mestalla, with the 27-year-old making 61 La Liga appearances and scoring 2 goals in the process.
