AS Roma are showing interest in Johnny Heitinga and Kurt Zouma as they continue their search for a new central defender, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi look set to stay without long-serving defender Nicolas Burdisso, who has offers from Sampdoria, Genoa and Olympiakos.
And even though Mehdi Benatia and Leandro Castan are performing at a very high level, Roma obviously need back up for the pair.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi are currently pondering a move for Everton stopper Johnny Heitinga.
With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, the Netherlands international should be available on a cut-price deal in January.
Saint Etienne’s Kurt Zouma is also on their radar, but with les Verts asking €20 million for the youngster, Roma are unlikely to pursue their interest this winter.
The Giallorossi host Juventus in Coppa Italia quarter-finals clash tomorrow, and they are 8/5 to get revenge on the Bianconeri for the 3-0 Serie A defeat.
