AS Roma have opened talks to sign Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes from Boca Juniors, reports Italian daily newspaper Il Tempo.
The Giallorossi have been keeping close tabs on the talented footballer for a while, but they have finally decided to step up their interest.
Il Tempo has learned that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is already negotiating a deal that should take the 19-year-old to Stadio Olimpico.
Boca Juniors reportedly value the player at €6 million, while the transfer could be further complicated by the fact Paredes would take up a non-EU spot in the squad.
Leandro Paredes is an attacking midfielder who has been likened to club legend Juan Roman Riquelme and he has already showed a great deal of potential on senior level.
Despite his fragile age, the youngster has so far made 26 league appearances for los Xeneize, scoring no less than five goals in the process.
