Italian giants AS Roma are considering January moves for Memphis Depay and Silvan Widmer, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have enjoyed a very good start to the season, climbing to second in the standings and they are now 8/1 shot to lift the league trophy.
However, head coach Luciano Spalletti has faced serious selection problems of late as winger Mohamed Salah will miss 4-6 weeks of action due to the Africa Cup of Nations, whereas full-back Alessandro Florenzi is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.
AS Roma officials aim to address the issue in the January transfer window and they appear to see Manchester United flop Memphis Depay as a good short-term replacement for Salah.
After attempting to recruit the player on permanent basis in the summer, the Giallorossi will now try and agree a loan deal with an option to buy.
At the same time, they are looking at Udinese full-back Silvan Widmer, who would be a very good option for the right-hand side.
