Serie A heavyweights AS Roma are said to be looking into a possibility to sign the Croatia international defender Domagoj Vida.
The Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Giallorossi have already opened negotiations with Besiktas over the January transfer for the 29-year-old.
AS Roma are looking to bolster their options at the back before the transfer window closes and appear to have identified the Croatian as their top target.
Vida has already been linked with Inter Milan and Fulham but Roma are now in the pole position to sign him.
The former Dinamo Kiev defender moved to Besiktas last January and saw his stock go through a stellar rise following the successful World Cup campaign in 2018 when he helped Croatia reach the final.
Vida started his career at Osijek and also played for Dinamo Zagreb in his homeland before moving to Ukraine in 2013.
