Roma and Milan vying for Santon

Italian giants AS Roma and AC Milan are showing interest in Newcastle full-back Davide Santon, according to Il Messaggero.

The highly rated defender is believed to be pondering a return to Serie A and the Magpies are reportedly prepared to sell in case of a good offer.

Il Messaggero has learned that both AS Roma and AC Milan are expected to step up their interest in the coming months.

The Giallorossi need to sign a long-term replacement for Douglas Maicon, while they lack quality options on the left flank as well.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are pretty much in the same situation, so no wonder the Rossoneri are keen on the player who can successfully operate on both sides of a four-man defence.

Davide Santon, 23, is believed to have become disillusioned with life at the St James’ Park, and he is hoping a return to Italy will help revive his international career.
