(GSM) – Roma captain Francesco Totti believes his team must not think of the past and look forward in order to save their season.
Roma have endured a difficult start for the season amid reports of dressing room unrest at the Italian capital club after Totti and Nicolas Burdisso had an ongoing argument during Wednesday night’s Champions League match against Cluj.
But Totti insists his rift with Burdisso has been solved and Roma must switch their focus on the future in order to salvage their chances of winning the Serie A title this season.
“Things like that can happen,” Totti said. “We saw each other afterwards. It’s all been sorted out.
“We had to qualify. This is the only thing that matters. Of course, seeing a win go up in smoke in the final minutes burned everyone.
“But now we are looking forward. Bari await us on Sunday. We have to get the three points because our season still isn’t compromised, but we cannot lose any more ground.”
Looking ahead to the Champions League draw, he said: “We hope that with respect to previous years it is kind to us
“We have acquired a certain international experience in recent years which can only be of added value.”
Roma are currently eighth in the Serie A table, ten points behind league leaders Milan.
