Roma name price for Miralem Pjanic

AS Roma have told Liverpool it would take €50 million to sign Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.

The Reds appear determined to add the highly rated footballer to their ranks in the summer, which is not that surprising given that captain Steven Gerrard is set to leave.

Liverpool have told the Giallorossi they would be willing to pay around €30 million for Pjanic, but Roma officials in turn slapped a €50 million price tag on their star player.

While the Serie A side are not too keen on losing their prized asset, they are not in a position to reject a mega money bid for his services.

Miralem Pjanic signed a contract extension last year and saw his salary increased to almost €4 million per campaign, but he has been disappointed with club’s failure to challenge for major honours.

Having seen Juventus open up a ten-point lead at the Serie A summit, Roma are now 13/2 to lift the league trophy.
