Roma not interested in Fontana

Alberto Fontana’s agent insists that Roma are not interested in signing the veteran goalkeeper.

Reports have linked both Roma and Serie B side Parma with the 41-year-old in recent days.

Fontana is out of the first-team at Palermo, following the arrival of Marco Amelia from Livorno in the summer.

“Fontana is still a Palermo player,” replied his agent Bruno Carpeggiani on Tuttomercatoweb.

“And I believe he will remain there, as we are not in discussion to rescind the contract. Furthermore, I want to deny that Roma have showed an interest in my client.”

Roma are keen on signing a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window in order to have back-up for Brazilian keeper Doni.
