Roma ready to cash in on De Rossi
Roma sporting director Franco Baldini has admitted that the club are prepared to listen to offers for star midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
The highly rated midfielder is not entirely happy with his status at Olimpico and was once again left on the bench, as Roma defeated Palermo last night.
Premier League champions Manchester City hope to take advantage of the situation and finally lure the player to Etihad Stadium, after failing to do so in January.
“In the summer there was an offer made by Manchester City,” Roma sporting director Franco Baldini told Sky Sport 24. “We listened to that offer and considered it.
“If we were to get another offer we would listen again. But we could easily decline again.”
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has admitted his interest in the Italy international on several occasions, and it appears that he could finally get his man in January.
De Rossi has spent his entire career at Roma, making 288 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi and scoring 33 goals.
Atletico Madrid linked to Adebayor
Atletico Madrid are lining up a move for Tottenham wantaway striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to The People.
Los Colchoneros are bracing themselves for life without Radamel Falcao Garcia and are already searching for potential replacements.
The People suggests that the La Liga side could make a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor fell out with boss Andre-Villas boas shortly after arriving to the club in a £5 million deal from Manchester City in the summer.
The Togolese has made just five Premier League appearances this term and has yet to start a league game under the Portuguese manager.
He is, therefore, intent on leaving the club in the January transfer window, and there is every chance he will take a possible offer from Atletico into serious consideration.
El Shaarawy set for new Milan deal
Serie A giants Milan have confirmed young forward Stephan El Shaarawy is set to sign a new contract at San Siro.
The 20-year-old has done remarkably well to compensate for the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, scoring eight goals in eleven Serie A games this season.
Impressive showings for the Rossoneri have seen the player linked with a January move to Manchester City, but Adriano Galliani has moved to rubbish the reports and revealed the player is about to sign a contract extension.
“Enough of this talk,” Galliani said at a Press conference this morning. “He has a contract until 2017, and soon he will sign an extension until 2018. El Shaarawy is an enchanting player.”
Stephan El Shaarawy joined Milan in a €10 million deal from Genoa, and didn’t need a lot of time to prove his worth at San Siro.
The youngster has started all 11 league games for the Rossoneri this season, with boss Max Allegri looking to build his team around him.
