Roma recruit Australian starlet
Roma have secured the signature of Perth Glory midfielder Danny De Silva, the Australian side have announced on their official website.
The 17-year-old has been signed for an undisclosed fee and he will only join his new employers after the 2014/2015 season comes to an end.
Da Silva has been regarded as one of country’s hottest prospects and he has been playing for the Australia Under-20 side.
The midfielder joined Perth Glory in February 2013, becoming club’s youngest ever professional player and he was handed his first team debut the following month.
Da Silva has so far featured in 15 league matches for the club, but he has yet to register his first goal.
The talented footballer is likely to profit from staying in Australia for another season and he is expected to play an important role for Perth Glory next term.
Valencia set to sign Enzo Perez
Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo has learned that Valencia are set to complete the signing of Argentine midfielder Enzo Perez from Benfica.
Los Che have been in advanced talks with the Primeira Liga side during the past few weeks and it appears an agreement has been reached.
The final details should be sorted in the coming days which should allow the Argentina international to sign for Valencia when he returns from the World Cup, where los Albicelestes are 4/9 to win their opening game against Bosnia.
Enzo Perez, 28, joined Benfica from Estudiantes in the summer of 2011, and he has had a slow start to his career at Estadio da Luz.
However, he then moved to establish himself as a key player over the last two years, scoring 8 goals in 56 league appearances.
Perez has impressed Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella as well and he is on the verge of breaking into the starting line-up.
Monaco keen on Umtiti
Monaco are keeping close tabs on Lyon starlet Samuel Umtiti, French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested.
The Principality club look set to cash in on Nicolas Isimat-Mirin, while Eric Abidal has entered the final year of his contract, meaning the French giants are on the lookout for a new centre-back.
According to L’Equipe, Monaco have made Lyon youngster Samuel Umtiti their number one target.
Les Gones are reportedly prepared to negotiate a sale in an attempt to improve the poor financial situation, but their league rivals have yet to make their interest concrete.
Despite his fragile age, Samuel Umtiti, 20, has already shown a great deal of potential and amassed a total of 66 Ligue 1 appearances.
The France Under-21 international has been mostly used as a central defender, but he is equally adept at playing on the left hand side.
