Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches has emerged as a fresh target for AS Roma, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi are forced to sign a new centre-back as it was revealed Leandro Castan would undergo a brain surgery in December and they seem to have reignited their interest in the Romanian defender.
River Plate’s Eder Balanta remains on their radar, but with his contract owned by a number of different parties, Roma officials believe it would be very difficult to lure him to Stadio Olimpico.
As a result, the Giallorossi have turned their attention to Spurs defender Vlad Chiriches, who should be available for some €10 million.
Given that the 25-year-old is currently not in the first team plans of manager Mauricio Pochettino, it is believed Tottenham would agree to let him leave on loan with an option to buy.
AS Roma sit three points behind rivals Juventus in the Serie A standings and the Giallorossi are 2/1 to lift the league title.
