Roma are ready to reignite their interest in Porto defender Rolando, Il Corriere dello Sport has revealed.
Despite heavy summer recruitment, the Giallorossi are still short of quality in the heart of defence and they plan to sign another centre-back in January.
With youngster Marquinhos set to miss at least several weeks of action due to his participation at the South American Under-20 Championship, Roma are preparing a bid for Porto defender Rolando.
The Portuguese stopper yesterday revealed that Porto had rejected an €8 million bid for his services from Roma in the summer, but the Dragons would probably jump at the chance to sell him for a similar amount in January.
Namely, having made just one appearance this season, Rolando’s value has decreased a great deal, and this could be a perfect opportunity for the Italian club to get a high-quality player at a bargain price.
In total, Rolando has scored 7 goals in 112 Primeira Liga appearances for Porto.
