Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Serie A side Roma, TalkSport understands.
Since arriving in Istanbul, the Ivory Coast international has been reproducing the former he showed during his eight years with Chelsea, scoring twenty goals in fifty appearances.
The 36 year old, who recently admitted that he would be open to a return to Stamford Bridge at some point, is set to be out of contract at the end of the season and the Giallorossi are ready to pounce.
Rudi Garcia’s side are on course to qualify for next seasons Champions League following a three year absence from the competition, though their hopes of a first Serie A title in thirteen seasons were all but ended at the weekend as they failed to score for a second successive game, losing 1-0 to third place Napoli.
The result left them fourteen points behind leaders Juventus, who they face in the penultimate game of the season.
