(GSM) – Roma have stepped up in their bid to sign Arsenal’s William Gallas by sending deal-maker Daniele Prade to London to speak with the player.
The Serie A club is interested in the France international whose contract runs out this summer. Roma sporting director watched Arsenal’s Champions League match against Porto and is said to be keen to reach a pre-contract agreement with the former Chelsea defender.
Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he would love a reunion with Gallas after the pair worked together at their time at Chelsea. And with Gallas not reaching a contract agreement with Arsenal, the player may be keen to pen a deal with the Italian club.
Although Roma can sign Gallas for free, the French defender’s high wage demands can prove to be a problem for the Italians.
However, Gallas has previously indicated that he would like to play in a new country before retiring.
