AS Roma are considering a January bid for Newell’s Old Boys striker Ezequiel Ponce, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi have signed quite a few South American players over the last couple of years, with Nico Lopez, Leandro Paredes and Antonio Sanabria all arriving at Stadio Olimpico.
Roma officials clearly continue to look towards the future as Newell’s Old Boys starlet Ezequiel Ponce has emerged as their latest target.
Even if Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid are also keen, the latest reports suggest that the Giallorossi lead the chase at the moment as they appear ready to pay around €7 million for the 17-year-old footballer.
Ezequiel Ponce has largely impressed during his debut season in the senior side, having managed 4 goals and 2 assists in 17 league outings.
Roma will probably make their move in the January window as they want to beat their rivals to the signing of one of Argentina’s hottest prospects.
