Roma to return for Luiz Adriano

Italian giants AS Roma plan to launch a fresh assault on Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano in the summer, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi have recruited Seydou Doumbia from CSKA Moscow after Mattia Destro had been loaned to AC Milan, but they are looking to add another striker at the end of the season.

Namely, with Destro expected to remain at San Siro and Francesco Totti nearing the end of his career, Roma aim to lure Luiz Adriano to Stadio Olimpico in the summer.

The Giallorossi failed to find an agreement with Shakhtar this winter, but with the forward nearing the end of his contract, they should be able to make things right at the end of the current campaign.

AS Roma hope to revive their Serie A title bid after falling seven points behind holders Juventus and they can now be backed at 6/1 to pip the Bianconeri to the league trophy.
