According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Tottenham Hotspur and Roma are set to meet in London, England in order to discuss the potential transfer of defender Toby Alderweireld. Roma official Franco Baldini, who previously worked for Tottenham, has a scheduled appointment with Daniel Levy himself. Roma want to lower the £25 million asking price that has been put on the Belgian defender, which was set via a clause in his contract that suggests he can leave for that amount up to a fortnight before the end of the window. Alderweireld is said to have some quite high personal demands for the Italian side, to the point where it wouldn’t be all too surprising if he’s just trying to price himself out of the deal in order to stay with Spurs.
Either way, though, this feels like a saga that isn’t going to come to a conclusion any time soon.
