Roma and Udinese vying for Nicolas Freire

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that AS Roma and Udinese are among clubs showing interest in Argentinos Juniors defender Nicolas Freire.

The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of country’s hottest prospects and he is being linked with a summer move to Europe.

Serie A sides AS Roma and Udinese are believed to be interested in his services, although they have yet to make concrete moves.

Nicolas Freire came through the youth ranks at Argentinos Juniors and was handed his first team debut in March 2013.

He has made a total of 22 league appearances for the Argentine club and managed to establish himself as a first team regular, starting 10 league fixtures this season.

Freire’s suitors AS Roma will be in action later today when they face high-flying Fiorentina at Artemio Franchi, and the Giallorossi have been made 13/10 favourites to claim maximum points and keep their title hopes alive.
