AS Roma are considering January moves for Italian defenders Domenico Criscito and Lorenzo Tonelli, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
Former Giallorossi boss Luciano Spalletti is set to take over from Rudi Garcia at Stadio Olimpico and he is desperate to reinforce the squad as soon as he arrives.
The Italian coach plans to add more steal to the back line, with Domenico Criscito one of his primary targets.
The pair worked together at Zenit few years ago and with the full-back eager to return to Italy, a January move to AS Roma could be on the cards.
At the same time, Spalletti is considering a bid for Empoli centre-back Lorenzo Tonelli, who has been performing at a very high level ever since the Azzurri returned to the elite division.
There are likely to be few more signings for AS Roma this January, with one of Diego Perotti or Stephan El Shaarawy expected to arrive as a replacement for Juan Manuel Iturbe.
