Roma will be looking to lure Jose Mourinho to Olimpico if he decides to leave Real Madrid, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Mourinho’s position at Vicente Calderon has come under intense scrutiny after los Merengues failed to keep up with Barcelona in La Liga.
The Portuguese coach yesterday hinted that he already had a plan should Real Madrid decide to sack him.
“If Real Madrid were to sack me, I wouldn’t go and coach Malaga,” Mourinho said. “I would go to a big club in England or Italy.”
The Special One has been linked with a return to Chelsea and Inter, but Roma are also expected to join the race following proposed club takeover by Thomas DiBenedetto.
Vincenzo Montella has taken over the reigns at Olimpico after Claudio Ranieri was shown the door, but Montella is unlikely to continue after the end of the season.
